Strategy for Realmers may vary based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to:
- Number of Realms owned
- Basic traits of the Realm you own (Geo Features and Natural Resources)
- Number of AoVs and partner project Adventurers owned
- A Realmer's intentions (maximizing $PARTICLE accumulation for production, building Anima Staking Capacity, earning $MAGIC through the Realmverse, etc.)
This article highlights common strategies and best practices Realmers use to achieve their goals in the current state of the game.
¶ Accumulating $PARTICLE and Collectible Production
One of the biggest utilities of Realms is the ability to earn $PARTICLE via exploration. Although the game loops for $PARTICLE are still in development, its primary function currently is for producing Collectibles on Realms. Collectibles have an array of in-game utility (explained in more detail here) and can also be traded on the marketplace.
Regardless of your goals as a Realmer, $PARTICLE will most likely play an integral part in helping you achieve them.
¶ Maximizing $PARTICLE Yield
Exploring the Realmverse
- A Realm's total Natural Resources value is used to calculate $PARTICLE yield from exploration. If you are acquiring one or more Realms for the first time, this is the most relevant factor to consider solely for $PARTICLE yield
- If you are already a Realmer, your Realm will need Population from Cities to allow your own Adventurers or other people's Adventurers to explore your Realm and begin generating $PARTICLE emissions
- You will most likely need to acquire Cities from the marketplace or by acquiring the Collectibles needed to craft them yourself. As a best practice, consider starting off by adding enough Population to your Realm to host your own Adventurers
- If you find yourself with too much unused Population, try engaging with the Realm community! With Adventurers from partner projects joining the Realmverse, other players may be inclined to send their Adventurers to your Realm. Some Realmers even offer additional incentives such as giveaways via the Realm Discord for people who explore their Realm!
- Remember, you can also unstake City structures at any time and trade them on the marketplace to "right size" your Population capacity
- Over time, you can use your initial $PARTICLE emissions to craft the Collectibles needed to build Cities. This way, you can continue building your Population capacity using your $PARTICLE emissions to bring in more Adventurers and increase yield. Alternatively, you can sell the Collectibles or Cities on the marketplace to help offset your initial City costs
- If you have a surplus of Adventurers that exceed your Realm's Population capacity, it is best to have them explore someone else's Realm so they earn $PARTICLE. However, sending Adventurers to your own Realm will give you a better boost as the Realm owner.
- If buying or producing Cities becomes cost prohibitive based on marketplace conditions, or your priorities change, it may be more economical to send surplus Adventurers to other Realms instead of expanding your own Population until it becomes feasible again
- Having a steady flow of maximized $PARTICLE yield is a valuable prerequisite for effective Collectible production
- Review the Collectibles page for an overview of Collectible production time and costs by rarity
- Since production capacity is capped at six days, and you can only produce one type of Collectible at a time, the most efficient strategy is to produce the maximum amount available for one Collectible once every six days and repeat
- Realmers with multiple Realms may choose to diversify their production to hedge against shifts to the game meta, or concentrate their production on one specific outcome and pivot periodically
- Make sure the combination of your Realm's $PARTICLE yield and yield from your exploring Adventurers meets or exceeds your production requirement. For example, if you want to craft six common Collectibles every six days, that is going to require 0.6 $PARTICLE. Your Realm will need enough Population capacity to earn at least 0.1 $PARTICLE a day to cover the cost
- Ancient Particle Reactor (APR) structures are another important consideration for Collectible production. Staking an APR to your Realm will cut production time in half and double max Collectible output over a six day period. APRs do not impact $PARTICLE costs per item
- Keep in mind, APRs have a fixed supply of 2706, whereas Realms have a fixed supply of 5016. Fluctuating demand for Collectible production may drive APRs to cost prohibitive levels depending on marketplace conditions. Each Realmer needs to assess the value of acquiring an APR against potential yield from Collectible production based on what your Realm can produce
Note: Utility for Collectibles may change over time, as new utility is expected to be introduced along with new features. The "Prime Collectible" historically has changed from one category to another. Having a Realm with a balanced natural resource distribution could be an advantage when the meta changes, but make sure to stay up to date on changes to the Realmverse to make sure your strategy still aligns with your goals.
Single Side Anima Staking (Coming Soon)
The Realmverse will soon offer gamified staking mechanics that will allow Realmers to use their Realm to stake and earn $ANIMA. Although the feature is not currently live, Realmers looking to participate can get a head start by staking Monuments to their Realm for Adventurers to burn through Homage, which increases a Realm's Anima Staking Capacity.
- Review the Homage page for more details on the activity from the Adventurer side
- If you are a Realmer earning $PARTICLE and producing Collectibles, you can produce Earthen Collectibles to begin building Monuments. Alternatively, you can acquire Monuments or the materials needed to build them from the marketplace
- Monuments require an Adventurer at a certain transcendence level as well as an $ANIMA burn cost to pay Homage; these requirements increase based on Monument rarity.
- If you have enough $ANIMA and Adventurers that meet the level requirements, you can burn Monuments you stake to your own Realm and receive the increased Anima Staking Capacity as well as the Adventurer rewards detailed in the Homage page
- Other players with Adventurers can see any Monuments that are staked to any Realms and can also burn them for Homage rewards.
- As a Realmer, you will need to assess the levels of your Adventurers and how much $ANIMA you are willing to burn to determine whether it makes sense to burn your own Monuments, or let other players burn them. You will receive Anima Staking Capacity for your Realm either way
- As a best practice, consider how much $ANIMA you would expect to stake to your Realm and the cost of the Monuments or building materials needed to unlock that much Anima Staking Capacity. Like everything else in the Realmverse, fluctuations in marketplace conditions or updates to the game may create conditions that encourage or discourage staking Monuments
- Increasing your Realm's Anima Staking Capacity will boost your Realm's Productivity Score. This metric is not yet active, but could drive the value of Realms in the future-state game. Using your Realm's production capabilities to increase Anima Staking Capacity through Monuments is currently a more speculative game strategy compared to using production for presently established purposes
